Tell Me My Story!
A visitor showed up on my bed today. Out of nowhere and nowhen and of course with no why! He was a bit fuzzy round the edges and threatened to disappear any minute…
“Hi!” I said, “and who would you be?”. ”Wouldn’t you like to know?” said the cheeky imp. “And so would I!. Tell me my story!” he insisted.
“Are you a foreigner?” I asked politely. “we don’t wear those hats here”.
“I was born with it” he said.
“What good are your teeth,” I asked, “you can’t chew with them!”
“They are for laughing with”, he said. “I shall name you ‘Tridantha’, that means the three toothed one”, I said.
As we spoke, he turned into this! Tridanta laughed and doffed his hat with a spidery hand. Now where did that come from? I didn’t notice it before!
“Where are your legs? and where is your other eye? your stomach? your ears?” He laughed a jiggledy laugh.
“I bounce along. My other eye might be under my hat, my hairy arms are very good at smelling, I listen with my mouth and I am never hungry” Tridant said, ”I am here to fix your kahani plumbing! Ila tells me that you have not written a story in ages.”
“I was going to tell the story of the dragon and his boy, but they aren’t coloured yet, ” I said.
